How to check if you own a recalled product
- Find the label. Model numbers and date codes are usually on a sticker underneath, on the back, or sewn into a seam. The recall photos often show exactly where.
- Search the model number above, or the UPC under the barcode, with no spaces.
- If it matches, stop using it and follow the “What to do” steps on the recall. Most recalls offer a free refund, repair, or replacement.
- Register new baby gear with the maker (the card in the box, or online). That's how companies reach you directly when something is recalled.
How common was it?
What the rating means
Mostly from how many were sold, nudged up for big chain stores or well-known brands and down for products sold in only a few places. It says how likely you are to have one, not how dangerous it is: every recall here is worth taking seriously.
- Niche
- Fewer than about 5,000 sold, or sold in only a few places. Most families won't have one.
- Moderate
- Thousands to tens of thousands sold. Worth a quick check.
- Widespread
- Tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands sold, or at big chain stores. Check your home.
- Major
- Hundreds of thousands or millions sold. Check your home today.

About this list
Recalls come from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and are added each week. We include products made for babies and kids, plus household products whose danger is mainly to young children (like dressers that can tip over). It isn't a complete list of every recall: always read the official notice linked on each recall, and check cpsc.gov/Recalls and NHTSA for car seats.
Had a problem with a product? Report it at SaferProducts.gov. Summaries are ours; everything under “Official notice” is CPSC's own wording.
