Bathing a newborn is a two-handed job, which is why a bath support helps so much. It holds your baby safely reclined so both your hands are free.
The Angelcare stands out because it’s simple. It’s one piece of plastic with a soft mesh sling and non-slip feet, and it fits in a full tub or a big sink. Water drains straight through, so it dries fast and doesn’t get musty like foam supports can. That’s a big reason parents keep recommending it to each other.

Our report card
For the first months of baths, this is an easy yes: it keeps a newborn steady enough that you can wash with both hands, it dries between baths without going moldy, and there's nothing to assemble or clip in.

Pros: what parents love
- You get your hands back. The mesh cradles a small baby and the grippy base keeps it steady, so you can wash instead of hold on. One family said earlier supports let their baby slide and this one didn't.
- It dries fast and doesn't go moldy. Water drains straight through the perforated plastic and mesh, so nothing pools. Parents say it's dry by the next bath, unlike foam or fabric seats that get funky.
- Out of the box and into the tub. There's no assembly and no liners to clip in.
- Light, with a loop to hang it. It's easy to lift one-handed by the handle, and the built-in loop hangs on a shower caddy or hook to drip-dry and stay out of the way.
Cons: what parents don't
- Bulky and doesn't fold. It's light but takes up a lot of tub space and won't collapse, which makes it awkward to pack for a weekend away.
- It may not fit your sink. At roughly 23 inches long and 14 inches wide, it fits some kitchen sinks and not others.

Who it's for
It's best for families with a full-size tub or a roomy single sink. This single molded plastic is also easy to use, so great for parents doing bath time solo or granparents.
How we reviewed
We rated it on how securely it holds a slippery newborn, how easy it is to clean and dry, how little space and hassle it adds, and how long you'll actually use it. We pulled from expert testing and roundups (BabyGearLab, The Bump, Mother&Baby, MomJunction) and lots of parent reviews.
