The Tadpole Take4.5Recommended

Swaddlers are among the softest, gentlest disposable diapers you can grab in a regular store, and both The Bump and Reviewed put them as a top diaper. They are also a strong pick for newborn skin and runny breastfed poop. When it comes to price they average a couple cents higher (per diaper) then other brands like Huggies and Luv, but tend to be below premium/eco brands like honest.

Pros: what parents love

  • Soft BabyGearLab tied Swaddlers for the most comfortable diaper it tested and liked the cloth-like feel. Parents describe a snug fit at the legs and waist without red marks.
  • Kind to newborn skin. Fragrance-free, hypoallergenic and dermatologist-tested.
  • Holds a lot, often through the night. The Bump singled out its absorbency for a newborn-size diaper and named it the best diaper in stores for 2026. Reviewed called it very absorbent, and lasting overnight isn't an issue.
  • Contains blowouts and runny poop. Reviewed picked it for blowouts, crediting the back barrier and leg cuffs. Parents say the leg ruffles keep runny breastfed-baby poop where it belongs.
  • The important blue line. The yellow-to-blue wetness stripe tells you if a change is needed.

Cons: what parents don't

  • A redesign may have made them less absorbent. Mommyhood101 dropped Swaddlers from 1 to 6 after a redesign, citing worse absorbency, comfort and gentleness.
  • Cost. Swaddlers tend to cost a couple cents more per diaper then other brands like Huggies and Luv, however they trend lower then premium and eco brands like Honest.
  • Not the pick for ingredient-cautious families. They still contain polypropylene, petrolatum and other chemicals some parents avoid, and they aren't biodegradable or plant-based.

  • Rewards loyal buyers without a catch. One mom's review found it a no-strings way to get something back if you already buy Pampers.
  • Rewards got worse and build up slowly. Parents miss the old catalog; points now mostly become coupons for more Pampers. One called it roughly "one tiny reward a year."

Safety & recalls

No recalls found for this product.

Checked against the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recall database on October 29, 2026.

Who it's for

Swaddlers suit newborns and young babies, especially ones with rash-prone skin or the runny poop that comes with breastfeeding. They're a good fit for families who want a soft, easy-to-find diaper and can live with paying a bit more. We found no recall, and our kids' product recall alerts are the place to check if anything changes.

How we reviewed

We rated Swaddlers on three things: how well they absorb and hold leaks (overnight and blowouts included), how gentle they are on newborn skin, and how comfortable and secure the fit is as babies grow. We drew on expert testing from BabyGearLab, Reviewed, Mommyhood101 and Today's Parent, The Bump's awards and parent survey, and a large pool of retailer reviews.

The Tadpole Take

4.5/ 5

We loved the Pampers Swaddlers when it comes to the holding powers and softness. If they were more competitive in pricing it could have earned them a five start tadpole take!
